NHL Team in Hamilton

As you may know, we are currently in discussions for an agreement representing a business interest to bring an NHL Hockey team to the City Of Hamilton.

We have been down this road several times before and been used as leverage for ownership to get better deals in different locations. (Such as Peter Pocklington and the Edmonton Oilers)

We understand the feelings in the community are cynical, however we have a fiduciary responsibility to do due diligence and enter into an agreement that will have major economic and development benefits to elevate the tax burden that many residents in our community face.

This is still a long shot, but unless we entertain and do our do due diligence on such proposals, the opportunity will never be there. What do you think?

Terry, congratulations to you and those who were involved in getting us to this point! I know the cynics will say, we’ve been down this road before, but we must keep trying if we’re going to realize this dream. Let’s prove the NHL wrong!

Sign me up for seasons tickets! We need that team!

  3. Joe Camilleri says:

Thanks for all your hard work and persistence with Hamilton’s fight for an NHL franchise. Things haven’t looked this good since 1990. A strong political voice is always needed whenever the opportunity arises–we appreciate your continued work on our behalf.

  4. Chris Ecklund says:

Excellent work Terry, to you and those on the NHL committee, a job well done!
