Snow Removal
Hello, today we had a near record amount of snowfall. The City had over 100 trucks on the road for the past 36 hours. I would like to recognize staff for working around the clock to plow our roads. My question to you is, how did you find the City’s response to plowing? Compliments? Complaints? Let me know…
Hi Terry, Two comments- one good, one not so. Snow clearing: What a fantastic job everyone concerned did – I hope someone on council compliments staff, they certainly deserve it. Taking garbage collection out of taxes:I understand where you are coming from but please drop the idea. You cite water rates as a precedent to follow. The idea was good but taxes were not reduced by the same amount and will not be this time either. Someone will see it as a way to add a little more to the tax bill. Hamilton desperately needs to make giant steps towards losing its title as the highest taxed municipality in Canada [McLean's magazine survey].
